Foils Salon Named One of Nation's Fastest Growing Salons by Salon Today Magazine

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL, January 2003 -- Indian Harbour Beach's Foils Salon, owned by Sandra Phelps DeConda, recently was named one of the 200 fastest-growing salons by Salon Today magazine, a top business publication for the professional beauty industry.

The magazine's sixth annual Salon Today 200 profiled the selected salons in its January 2003 issue. The 200 salons were selected from applications submitted by Salon Today readers, who represent the 25,000 top-producing salons in the country. The magazine honored the applicants who posted the highest increase in gross sales between 2000 and 2001, and who were on track to increase sales significantly in 2002.

"We created the Salon Today as a forum of inspiration for the industry, to celebrate the success of salons of all sizes," said Stacy Soble, editor of Salon Today. "This issue not only honors the hard work and dedication of the salon owners and their staffs, but by sharing the facts and figures behind their salon success stories, it helps other readers grow and improve their businesses."

About the Award

To be eligible for consideration in the Salon Today 200, salons had to meet the following criteria:

Professionalism - The salon is primarily a provider of professional salon services including, but not limited to, one or more of the following: hair care, skin care, body care and spa treatments.

Volume - The salon generated gross service and product sale revenues of at least $100,000 per year since 2000.

Growth - Salon revenues were greater in 2001 than in 2000, and projected to be higher in 2002 than in 2001.

Willingness to Share - The salon owner signed the completed entry form, which included financial disclosures for 2000 and 2001 and other statistical information, and granted Salon Today permission to edit and publish this information.

Verification - The salon owner submitted documentation to verify financials for 2000 and 2001.
