It's time to celebrate the success of salons across the nation who continually inspire their staffs, captivate their clients and grow their business.

These 200 fastest growing salons posted impressive growth rates from 15 to 149 percent, forecasting an average of 24 percent growth for 2003.

It's time to toast the salons for sharing critical information on revenue, budgets, workforce and salaries that provides benchmarking statistics that help salons of all sizes track their growth. How do these salons stay strong during a down economy? Outstanding customer experience, creative strategies, and teamwork.

About the Award

To be eligible for consideration in the Salon Today 200, salons had to meet the following criteria:

Professionalism - The salon is primarily a provider of professional salon services including, but not limited to, one or more of the following: hair care, skin care, body care and spa treatments.

Volume - The salon generated gross service and product sale revenues of at least $100,000 per year since 2001.

Growth - Salon revenues were greater in 2002 than in 2001, and projected to be higher in 2003 than in 2002.

Willingness to Share - The salon owner signed the completed entry form, which included financial disclosures for 2001 and 2002 and other statistical information, and granted Salon Today permission to edit and publish this information.

Verification - The salon owner submitted documentation to verify financials for 2001 and 2002.
