| While threading is safe at any
time, special care should be taken before waxing. Our waxes are
warm and non-irritating, gently removing hair while discouraging
new growth. However, the time is not always right for waxing. Please
use the following guidelines:
Waxing is not recommended if you are taking antibiotics
or medications for the skin including Accutane, Retin-A, Differin,
Renova, alpha-hydroxy acids or glycolic acids. This is also true
if you are on blood thinners. Certain physical conditions, such
as diabetes, pregnancy and a pre-disposition to cold sores, may
also cause heightened sensitivity.
Ideally, you should have growth of at least one-quarter
inch (two to three weeks) when you come in for your appointment.
One or two days before the scheduled appointment, it is recommended
to exfoliate the area that is to be waxed. The day of the appointment,
please avoid using a moisturizer. Be sure not to tan 24-48 hours
before waxing as it increases sensitivity. Also, wait 2-3 weeks
for waxing after microdermabrasion; threading can be done at any
time. |
